1 edit | Please do explain how at&t "ruined" bellsouth. This is just your past possibly ONE if not few bad experiences you might have had that's set your negative spin - which can happen in any corporation big or small.
I think it was for the better as Bellsouth was a mess from the beginning. They - Bellsouth as a whole, no offense to those 'over and above' technicians/managers - always did things half ass (left old equipment in place, infrastructure went to hell, never replaced lines just patched them up). The only good upgrade Bellsouth did was install fiber optics which took them forever to accomplish. Once at&t took over it all seemed to be cleaned up. Ive never had any issues whatsoever since their takeover. at&t is also now installing U-verse VRADS and getting everyone online in the majority of South Florida by next month. Their billing system is excellent as again I have not had any issues (att mobility or att corp). -- If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless you know what you're doing.

| Re: AT&T has UVerse You sir have no idea what you are talking about. Since AT&T aquired us the following crap has happened. 1. Thier systems and data base is antiquited, stuff we stoped using 15 years ago. now we move into thier slop. 2. Our job as former Bellsouth Managers was to meet and exceed our customer needs. and for 23 years as a stand alone I can say we did that. 3. Our network that Dallas inhierited was robust and reliable, now I can tell you it is about the bottom line. As we get deeper into our summer storm season our systems will become less reliable. | |

2 edits | Yes, was limited to 1500/256 here on old (1978) RT that BS refused to upgrade.
Withing a year of AT&T, signs in neigborhood "we are upgrading your network".
I went from 9800 feet and a noisy line to less than 3000' and now can get 6mbit.
I can now finally get dry DSL, BS never offered it. Still hoping my ISP starts offering it.
I don't use BS for an ISP as they have been unreliable. Those I know on BS say their endless email problems have gotten better.
I do prefer DTV to be independant. I expect an AT&T merger would start rasing prices on non-bundled packages (DTV+wireless+DSL+phone). -- Scott Henion

| If ATT takes over DirecTV I will just go back to cable. I love DirecTV and as a former installer for them I NEVER had any problems dealing with them.
ATT makes a mess out of eveything they touch. They are so large their left hands don't know what their right hands are doing.
All good things come to an end as they say....

Frontier already bundles Dish Network anyway.
