But for $1 more/mo you can watch about 7 or 8 DVDs too, based on round trip mail times, assuming you have a DVD player in your house. And many of the DVDs will be available sooner because of the deals that Netflix signed with studios to delay "instant watching" availability. -- Take poll on how you will vote on Nov 2nd

| | | Re: But for $1 more/mo you can watch about 7 or 8 DVDs too You're exactly right. I suppose it is an appealing offer for some people, but $1 doesn't break the bank for me...especially considering there are MANY shows/movies that aren't available for streaming (yet). | |

Streaming only should be more than $1 cheaper. At any rate I have ZERO interest in getting DVD's in the mail.
And many of the DVDs will be available sooner because of the deals that Netflix signed with studios to delay "instant watching" availability. You really need to learn to read. Netflix's new deals delays the DVDs, not streaming.

Unless you think there is a $10.95 disc option in Canada, which there isn't. Netflix doesn't do DVDs in Canada. -- Developer: Tomato/MLPPP, Linux/MLPPP, etc »fixppp.org

Looks like its started. That is weird. I just signed up for my plan 2 days ago and my $8.99 plan includes DVDs and streaming.
The regular price of the 1 DVD out at-a-time (Unlimited) plan is $8.99 (plus any applicable tax)
You are currently on this plan: 1 DVD out at-a-time + unlimited instant watching $8.99 a month
2 DVDs out at-a-time + unlimited instant watching $13.99 a month
3 DVDs out at-a-time + unlimited instant watching $16.99 a month
4 DVDs out at-a-time + unlimited instant watching $23.99 a month Did the rate you quoted include Blu-ray? But that adds $2/mo -- Take poll on how you will vote on Nov 2nd

kapilThe Kapil join:2000-04-26 Chicago, IL | The Deal The streaming-only plan is being test marketed in certain areas. As others have noted, it's already visible on the website in areas where it's being tested.
It's actually more expensive than the current deal. So, the cheapest plan is $7.99 + $2 if you want DVDs by mail also. The old plan was $8.99 for the same package. Blu-Ray is additional in both cases.
Existing customers will be grandfathered in and will still be allowed to change their plans up or down in the old pricing structure. -- »www.VoIPTrunk.com

| | | Re: The Deal If they up the price for current customers to $9.99 a month for one disc-at-a-time, I'll probably just knock it back to streaming only at $7.99 a month since I get a lot more use out of the streaming than I do the discs. | |

| | Dumb Luck Just by dumb luck I singed up on Monday for the $7.99 mo Unlimited streaming only. Had No Idea this was a trial, they never said it was. Now I am going to order my Roku since they are down to $59 for the sudo HD of 720p and $79 for actual 1080 version you can't beat it. I was waiting for Boxee but they will never touch that $59 price point. | |
