It's Comcast Rate Hike Season Again
Oregon TV, Internet viewers notified of price increases
by Karl Bode 08:49AM Wednesday Dec 01 2010
It's time for another round of cable price hikes, The Oregonian noting that Comcast has started first sending out rate hike notices in Oregon, where Comcast's "Digital Starter" standard cable plan will see a price hike of around 5.1% -- to $63 a month. This all comes despite data showing that consumers are starting to drop cable due to high prices, with Comcast losing 275,000 TV subscribers last quarter. Comcast's also raising the rate of Internet service in Oregon, the paper noting most Internet users will see a $2 increase, and broadband customers that don't bundle will see a $5 increase -- from $55 to $60 a month.
