BT Improves Users 'Great Internet Experience' (old news - 12:54PM Monday Oct 08 2001)
British Telecom broadband users received this announcement recently: "in the short term we have had to impose traffic controls on particular applications & ports to ensure that our customers retain their great internet experience. We recognise your concerns on the usability of P2P applications, so are investigating the lifting of these restrictions at off-peak times (e.g. 1:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.)" A truly brilliant move, and an example of innovative telco thinking that must have Verizon and SBC panting to emulate! imagine how great the internet experience would be if they go a step further, and disallow access completely?
