| | That sound you hear is last nail in FIOS expansion coffin "Though Comcast's Xfinity products will be sold through Verizon Wireless stores, Comcast will cross-promote Verizon Wireless services through call centers and online sites."

| Re: That sound you hear is last nail in FIOS expansion coffin Let Verizon wireless separate and become allied with the cable companies. Then AT&T takes over the Verizon landline areas and re-starts FiOS deployment. Let the fun begin. ( Its good to dream ).
Each sector should have their OWN wireless division, this spectrum deal never shouldve been allowed.

| | | | | at&t's big mistake was selling it's cable assets to comcast. Had their executives had their heads in the right place they would have spun off att broadband and could've bundled that with wireless and not have to launch uverse. | |

| | | | | | Re: That sound you hear is last nail in FIOS expansion coffin Youre not even talking about the same AT&T company. The AT&T that made that "mistake" doesnt even exist anymore. | |

AT&T could still reverse course and pursue a FTTP strategy which it supposedly committed to in extremely limited circumstances. I think this new cooperation between Comcast and Verizon is somewhat suspicous. I originally supported this spectrum sale, but I have reservations about what this means for wireline competition. Is this a PLUS or MINUS?!? Time will tell what the real effects are.... This could be the whip that cracks against AT&T to do better, or not... the jury is still out..

| | | This is in the Frontier FiOS footprint, VZ wants to push the LTE product vs Frontier FiOS (which they built and then sold off). Nothing from this notice is surprising given that VZ couldn't compete with another "land line" based product of which LTE is not. | |

| Re: That sound you hear is last nail in FIOS expansion coffin I live in the greater seattle market, within the frontier Fios/former verizon footprint (even though fios didn't quite get installed on my street...yet) and I haven't seen this in any of the dozens/hundreds of ads, fliers, letters, billboards and TV spots I see for verizon and comcast each month.
As a promotional gimick it's pretty near invisible here.
There is no reason to limit it to the Frontier footprint either, it should work anywhere any of the cable partners provides service.
