Time Warner Cable will pull the plug on the NFL Network for former Insight Cable customers on Tuesday night, says the the NFL Network.
Thats when the NFL Networks contract expires with Insight cable, which was bought earlier this year by Time Warner. Time Warner, the nations second-biggest cable system operator, has never carried the NFL Network.
In a statement just released to The Enquirer, the NFL Network says:
We are disappointed that Time Warner Cable has taken away NFL Network and NFL RedZone from the many Insight customers who have enjoyed both channels for many years. There are no current negotiations with Time Warner Cable, which remains the only TV provider among the top eight in the country which refuses to offer its customers NFL Network.
With an expanded 13-game Thursday Night Football schedule kicking off in Week 2 and a new four-hour weekday morning show, NFL Network will bring fans more exclusive content than ever before in 2012, the NFL said.
Insight customers have received the NFL Network for seven years. It was one of the first cable systems to add the NFL (2005) and the NFL RedZone (2009) . Former Insight customers in Lexington, Louisville and Columbus also will lose the NFL Network.
