NBC Taking a Beating For Olympic Coverage
As Users Head Overseas To Evade Walled Garden
New Comcast plaything NBC has been taking a relentless beating for their coverage of the Olympics, ranging from pretending taped broadcasts are live (an example of why that's been a problem), to the company's editing of the opening ceremonies. Twitter, where most of the outrage is centered, is taking a beating of their own today for shutting down the account of a journalist who has been relentlessly critical of NBC. Meanwhile, NBC continues to have some problems with keeping their live stream up and running, a stream that's locked behind the usual TV Everywhere paywalls -- and only available if your ISP has partnered. Annoyed users are of course quickly finding their way around the garden walls so they can get coverage from the BBC that's actually live.

To hell with NBC ... their paywall, their slideshow live streams, taped delays & cherry-picking live events ... I'm using a $5.00 a month VPN to watch BBC & Canadian coverage which is better than anything I've seen from NBC.

The Twitter issue was the last straw for me, who the hell does NBC think they are? And twitter is just as bad for kowtowing to them.
