I hope so.. I'm tired of BlackBerry Enterprise Servers and all the headaches caused by their relays going down affecting entire countries.

My friend hates BlackBerries so much that he as an IT administrator prescribed iPhone therapy at gadget detox.

In other words, he finds that BlackBerries are a PITA to troubleshoot to the point of converting his employers mobile phone fleet to iPhone.

He is an Apple Fanboy like I am.

I guess that explains why he as an "IT Administrator" can't troubleshoot something as simple as a Blackberry.

Because all Apple fans are dumbfounded when it comes to technology right? This is a ridiculous statement.

at least iPhone's Exchange component works better than a damn BB, with all the crap that goes wrong with it. PIN resyncing, database corruption on the BES, etc. And as said before, because all of the BES traffic goes to some blackhole relay server that has been documented multiple times in going down effecting an entire nation; what exactly is so damn great about BB??

Absolutely nothing...

The amount of things that you can control on a handset with a Blackberry and BES is an administrators dream compared to the pedestrian options in EAS, but I will be the first to admit that BES isn't exactly intuitive. EAS is a solution so simple that any moron with a hand capable of moving a mouse can use it. BES is a can of worms, but if you can get it running and keep it running it blows EAS out of the water.

And just wait until corporations (and consumers) see what they can do with BlackBerry Balance.

A corporate controlled profile coupled with a "consumer" profile, completely separated at the OS level. The IT department can do whatever they want, control whatever apps they want in the one profile and the person can do whatever they want on their side without the two sides of the one device ever touching.

For BYOD this will be a significant improvement as the device doesn't have to be crippled by IT admins when the user takes it home and wants to do what they want with it.

That's a bogus statement. I find the BES a pain in the arse to manage and the active synch in a lot of Android phones sucks too. I'm moving all my users to iphones. Not because I am a a fanboy..but because I want my users to have email and a reasonably decent cell phone.

Revenue is less than half what it was in 2005, they're bleeding huge sums of money, their stock has been removed from all indexes and been delisted from the NYSE, they've entered bankruptcy protection, and the only way they've managed to keep their losses from getting into the billions has been by selling off their most valuable divisions and pulling out of other markets.

In February 2012, Kodak announced that it would be shutting most things down to focus on printing. In September 2012, they pulled out of the inkjet printer market...

As for film stock for the motion picture industry, that market collapsed after the vast majority of films moved to digital. It's rare for a movie to be shot on 35mm these days, and distribution is pretty much dead (most big theaters don't have 35mm projectors anymore).

But when people actually see what they can do with BB10 I do believe they will be impressed.

I don't have much experience with Android, but from what I know about iOS, BB10 will blow that experience out of the water. The ease with which multiasking and app switching can be done is phenomenally quick. No in app, press on home button, change to next app (kinda like BB7, very slow and inefficient). Quick swipes on the bezel get you everywhere you want to be.

In terms of apps, they are projecting over 100k apps including many of the top apps available across platforms. They are offering a $10k guarantee to developers who meet certain criteria, and have helped port many apps over.

The internet browser can do Flash (unlike iOS) and is also the best rated browser out there for HTML5 (which Jobs championed over Flash) compatibility. So on your BB10 device not only will you be able to do HTML5 well, you will also get the full internet experience with Flash.

No doubt BB7 and earlier has been a failure. They will turn it around with BB10. They don't need to be at the top to be successful, but they will gain customers with the new OS. Apple's offering is approaching 6 years old, and when compared to the ease of use of BB10 its age will begin to show - and it hasn't aged gracefully.

I hope your right. Unfortunately there are some problems down the road. Flash= DOA. Even the current android OS no longer has flash available. And I'm talk'n ICS as well as the newer Jelly Bean offerings. Flash is a known resource hog which is why it was never offered in the iPhone world. Time to die, Flash!

I was out shopping for a new phone a month or so ago. Did not see one BlackBerry in any store!

I thought they were already dead and gone.

Wasn't looking for and didn't want one anyway though.
