The protections of a credit card are just not there when you use your debit as a credit card... no insurance, disputing a charge is 10X harder since you money is already gone, just a hassle. There are plenty of places that will not accept a bill that's over $20. Cash is not easily accepted everywhere. And last time I checked I am always getting hundreds out of an ATM machine.
