If u read the ending note at fine print on the bottom of the excerpt then you would see that they said the writer of the linked article made a rather large mistake and didnt add the hyphens. 2-3 weeks or 2-4. I'm waiting for my Xbox now. Verified the reward on June 1st and it says the estimated delivery is July 27th which is still kind of ridiculous to me

UmThat HAS to be a typo of 3-4 and 2-3, no way a customer will wait out 3-4 years to get this stuff.

Re: Umsaid by dagg:uhm... exactly how many weeks do you think there are in a year?? I don't think... I know there are 52 weeks in a year. So 58 weeks is a year plus about a month and a half. It is certainly NOT 4 years and 9 months as OSUGoose stated.

Don't forget the caps!3-4 weeks, 34 weeks, 2-3 weeks, 23 weeks. Who cares! The real fine print is that you can't really use your tech device much because U-verse will cap your broadband connection. Bwuhahahaha...

There are no bandwidth caps or overage fees being enforced for U-verse internet.

AT&T Lies...Recently, I had an AT&T salesperson come to the door and try to sell me U-Verse. She tried to tell me that because Cablevision uses a shared line, I'm probably not getting the speed that they promise. I told her that I pay for 30Mbps and my speed tests usually show 34Mbps. I also told her that Cablevision has no usage limits whereas U-Verse users have a limit of 250GB a month. She told me that AT&T no longer has a such a limit. Funny, it's still on their web site.
A couple days later, I got a call from someone else trying to sell me U-Verse. He tried to make the same point about the speed. He was really gung-ho about trying to sell me 24Mbps service, with guaranteed speed! Then I brought up the caps and he claimed that that was only for their older system and that their new fiber system didn't have any limits. I told him that the caps still applied and he went to ask his supervisor. A few minutes later he came back on and said that I was right. He said he was looking at the site as we were talking. Then he said he wasn't sure what happened when you go over the limit, and I pointed out the section right below that spelled out the $10 fee for each additional 50GB.
His entire tone changed after that and he said he couldn't offer me anything better as far as internet service, than what I already have. He did make one last half-hearted attempt to sell me a triple-play package though.
To be clear, I don't think either of them were intentionally lying, I blame AT&T for not fully informing their salespeople of all of U-Verse's limitations.

Too much marketing, too little techThey have been sending my postcards about their 3mbps DSL like every other week. It's ridiculous. They need to stop advertising and upgrade their freaking network to GPON. I'll listen when they can do more than the 50/10 I'm getting from Comcast. I'm not a Slowsky. I'm downloading at well over 3MBps, no way in hell I want 3mbps.

Xbox 360Probably trying to clean house of unwanted inventory as there is rumors of a new Xbox coming out.
I made the mistake of buying the original Xbox not knowing it was nearing end of sale in 2005.

Wha?I could see the 360, but they have stopped the STB installs on it right? However a Nexus 7? Why would they do that! Its not like they really support Android, sure there is a broken app for it but as I said, it's horribly broken not to mention that its new U-Verse enabled apps are ios only.
I will take the service for what it is, innovative is one of the things it is not.
|
| | |
Re: Wha?They aren't doing it because of apps, they are doing this because uverse speeds suck and they are losing customers, so instead of upping speeds, hey guys, free xbox!
