Worldcom launches business VSAT service

On November 27, Worldcom launched the first VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) satellite service targeted for businesses covering continental United States. According to the press release, businesses in remote locations where regular landline broadband services are unavailable can get broadband service from Worldcom up to 1Mbps (downstream). The service is via Hughes Satellites.
