| Almost to infrared now I wonder if there is a sensation of heat on the skin since infrared is absorb by the skin more than microwaves (but these are millimeter waves and I have not heard anything about them)? Naw, 60 GHz is still a long way from 300 GHz (infrared 300 to 400000 GHz). -- I am not lost, I find myself every time. | |

| refresh my physics Signal to noise ration is huge for 60ghz and requires expensive circuitry to boost gain to make up for the attenuation. They have been trying to get this to work for years because of the 7ghz bandwidth allotted for 60ghz, which would mean very little if any interference when using multiple 60ghz devices. Would work great inside of the home. | |

| Re: refresh my physics Some equipment in this range will work up to 1.5 miles (depending on area based on rainfall) and deliver 1Gbps. A 60GHz signal is absorbed by oxygen limiting distance and interference. I've stood in front of these dishes before and haven't felt a thing. -- Comtrain Certified Tower Climber | |

| Oh my. ---------- "WE WILL NOT HAVE THESE TOWERS DEPLOYED IN OUR QUIET, HUMBLE TOWN OF TINYVILLE, MS. I HAVE A NEIGHBOR WHO CLAIMS HE BECAME GRAVELY ILL AFTER BEING EXPOSED TO HIS WI-FI ROUTER AFTER JUST ONE NIGHT OF USAGE"
This was our response after inquiring a local resident of Tinyville her comments on the new wireless internet tower, which is believed to offer speeds of up to 1 gbps.
----------
I can't tell you how sick I am of these "whiners". Whether they be religious freaks (no offense) or just regular uptown hicks, they drive me up the wall. They think wireless frequencies such as that from a wi-fi router will kill them, but they have no problem at all sitting in front of a microwave or another RF enabled device... | |
