Nearly 60% of AOL users noted in a recent poll by Changewave research stated that they plan to leave AOL for another service provider. Addressing the results as evidence of "ongoing hemorrhaging", Changewave director of research Michael Shulman stated "This survey has the most overwhelming, and negative, response to a company or technology we have ever seen."

Enter Microsoft, who's standing below the AOL table waiting for subscribers to fall. The Redmond giant has unveiled a new tool that will allow disgruntled AOL customers to migrate all of their settings and addresses with a few mouse clicks. The "defection tool", as it's been addressed by various media outlets, in three steps will change over your information, cancel your AOL account, and even forward mail sent to your AOL account on to your new MSN account for 30 days.
