Comcast Targets 'Internet Hogs'
Hints at future cost increases for high end users
(old news - 09:37AM Monday May 27 2002)
tags: prices · bandwidth
As a recurring theme, ISP's have begun targeting users who consume more than their share of the available bandwidth, offering more expensive high end speed packages more suitable for their data gluttony. AT&T and Comcast seem to be hinting that they will be following suit, noting that the 1 percent of subscribers that consume 30% of the capacity will soon have to pay more for such an honor.
