 | | | Earthlink bites man. My brother works there and they still couldn't get my DSL working for 2 months after I got hooked up and had the equipment. I was up for one week and down for more than 2 months. Then when you tell them to go screw themselves you'll look for another ISP that actually can PROVIDE a service, they keep sending you form letters in your email with boneheaded questions like the tech support does not even know how to talk personably about a problem. Now they switched tech support to India. Great! =:>P Even more communication problems! Anyway, Earthlink kept taking money out of my bank even though I told them to cancel everything and not to bill me anymore. I had to move because I went out-of-business after having no internet for that long. Five months later when I had no money in my bank, I had to close the bank account for them to stop taking money from me. Then they started sending me collection notices and having lawyers send letters with threatening lawsuit and credit reporting. They expected me to pay the entire year contract with penalty fees and interest added on. Every time I sent an email to earthlink, they sent me the same generic form letter that they always send out that did not address my problem at all. Earthlink sucks. The tech support even told me that they only help the people who don't have problems with DSL because there are too many people signing up for it. Hmmm, sounds kind of like Bally's or Family Fitness (to interested in getting customers, not too interested in keeping them, but still making them pay for service they do not receive after the customer parts ways, and offering a substandard service). Anyone who talks good about Earthlink either works there, has low expectations, or has never used a T1, so they don't know how fast the fastest internet SHOULD be. Verizon is not any better. They promise 1.5Mbps at the double cost high-end speed, and only get around 500Kbps on a good day. Both of these companies take forever to get any problems resolved or solved. Adelphia's cable connection gets me right at the 2Mbps promised speed at the lowest tier, and everything was hooked up the day after I called (i.e. I had internet going the next day after I had it hooked up). If only they could give 3Mbps Up/Down at the same speed for that price. I know there is a 3Mbps/512Kbps option, but everyone should be able to upload as fast as download. Expensive T1's should not have to be the only option. Also, there should be an option to run fibre optic cable from the street to your house and plug into a PCI fibre optic port of a PCI Card (I have seen the cards, not the service). All spammers should be sent to Iraq as punishment. | |

| Good for the short run. The problem is that yes they took this guy in, but there are 200 more to take his place..
Guess its kinda typical. Why take the prevention way when you can take the brute force way... My ISP was smart and setup anti spam software and has a black list, they also disabled smtp on residential account modems. Rogers att was put on my ISP's spam black list and isint allowed off until they fix their smtp server problem (and they actually are fixing the prob).
Since my isp started using anti spam software I havint received one unsolicited email.
No offence but listening to all you people complain about spam is getting old... Instead of crying to the police and government to do something about it you should get your ISP to disable smtp servers and start a blacklist that dosint allow spaming ISP's off until they take responsibility..
Woohoo one spammer down 2 000 000 to go.. good job losers, I give an E for effort... [text was edited by author 2003-05-14 12:00:18] | |
