It has NOTHING to do with SBC...
They are a regional ILEC in the Cincinnati OH/Northern Kentucky area. This only applies to people who's phone company is already Cincinnati Bell. Kinda like a new offering from BellSouth doesn't mean squat to me. It won't mean much to many people around here. One thing I've noticed about Cincinnati Bell/Zoomtown, they seem to have their sh*t straight. You hardly ever see complaints about their service. They're # 3 on DSLR's "Good, Bad, Ugly" listing for National ISPs/Telco ADSL...

Anyway, it would be nice to see...seems Zoomtown is listening to the customers...now why can't you do this?

| Cincinnati Bell part of SBC ?? Hmmm.... "Zoomtown is Cincinnati Bell, by the way. Part of the SBC group."
Since when ?? Where is this information from ?? They are a private company, not part of some bigger one:

| Re: Cincinnati Bell part of SBC ?? Hmmm.... And I have to agree with JD Powers to most of these points. The service offering is excellent on all platforms. Where else can you get Residential service, cell, and DSL all for under $95 a month? And that is 30 minutes of LD a month on the residential and something like 5 cents a minute after. And 500 minutes a month on the cell with unlimited nights, weekends, and LD. Now stack on 3Mb down and 768k up on the DSL. Can't beat 'em.

| Nice deal. $50 for 3.0/768 with a static IP? What a deal! The only providers I know that give those speeds and a static IP run about $100/month for a package like that. -- If everything seems to be going well, you've obviously overlooked something. | |

CINCINNATI -- April 29, 2003 -- Broadwing Inc. (NYSE:BRW) today announced at its Annual Shareholders meeting that the company will return its corporate name to Cincinnati Bell Inc. and adopt the NYSE ticker symbol CBB.
Brokewing has a great backbone and they were at one time a great little company hopefully they will return to being their former self as CBB again.

| Just waiting!!! As has been said, Zoomtown is the Internet provider owned by Cincinnati Bell. I'm waiting for my upgrade to arrive. It is the best deal going today as far as I know. Especially since there are many ares of Cincinnati whose only alternative is Adelphia and their Powerlink crap. I have not had cable internet available to me in over 3 years because Adelphia sucks, and Time Warner is nowhere in sight.
Another perk is that I get a corporate discount through my company. So my access is actually $34.95 a month.

| It would figure... ...that less than a month after I get a new apartment that they would upgrade the network, and don't forget that Zoomtown isn't available in my area. Oh well, It's great that they have stepped up to the plate after letting Roadrunner walk all over them for 3+ years in Cincinnati. Maybe we'll see some much needed advancement in broadband technology in Southwest Ohio. | |

| Can't get it here I'm in an area served by Cincinnati Bell but I am 4 miles from the nearest CO. There are some people within Cincinnati Bells service area who can't get Zoomtown. I do have InsightBB,who lately has dropped the ball and is letting its competitors get ahead of them. I just wish Cincinnati Bell was competing against them where I live. | |

| Re: Can't get it here Cinci Bell is a great local company. My friends in cinci like them. I had a cinci bell cell phone at one time....I loved it. 30bucks a month got me 430min a month with free long distance and roaming. The other good thing was their customer service. They overbilled me one month by 1.99 for a text messaging service I never ordered. In return they gave me a free month, free text messaging and free plantinum voice mail. -- Proud to be an American | |

| Re: Still waiting... I for one am not impressed thus far.
I swithced from a real 3Mb download speed via InsightBB to this and so far can only get less than 1Mb down and about 500Kbs up. I am spoiled in the sense that with Cable I got what close to what the promised speed was and I do not see the benefit in getting the extra few up K's when I lost over 2Mb in dl speed.
And what was really annoying was being told that I should be happy with it. I hope Cincy Bell DSL subscribers aren't just getting along with sub-par speeds all over. I know my buddy gets close to the advertised speeds, so thats what I expect too.
Fingers crossed hoping something gets resolved and I am surfing the net via DSL.

| Re: Still waiting... Well, I think they might finally be in the process of upgrading my connection. I'm getting some erratic behavior while trying to train the router. My download speed is still training at 768kbps, but my upload speed started training at 680kbps a few minutes ago. Now my upload speed is trained at 952kbps? LOL!
Yep, looks like the upload speed just got upgraded so far. Did a test to the Speakeasy server and my results are:
Your download speed : 537516 bps, or 537 kbps. A 65.6 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 784775 bps, or 784 kbps.

| Re: I wish I was Still waiting... I got the update and didn't know it. I guess I don't have Zoomtown posting to the correct e-mail address.
Started up the Cisco commander and saw my cisco was trained at around 500 and 1200 which I was 780+ and 1600+ (have always been over 768/1500 for some reason.
So with this 500 and 1200 I powered the cisco off for 2 minutes and pulled it back on and got about the same thing. I did this a couple more times and got a measley 900 and 1900 twice. I've not been able to reach that again.
Anyone else seeing their cisco's train up wrong?
I called Tech Support and they said "Line Conditions"...hmm...I guess a squirrel got in there and started chewing on my lines in the last 2 weeks. LOL
Dunno..it bothers me to know that I've been paying the Top Speed 768/1500 while some other guys have been paying for the low end all this time..and now they are faster than me and have spent less many over all.
