| I agree. I think it's stupid for them to limit it to Bell South customers only. Since it's a trial run, at least let other people test it out without having to sign up for DSL or dialup services. -- When you're there, I sleep lengthwise And when you're gone, I sleep diagonal on the bed[repeat] | |

| Re: What would really be cool is... That would be outstanding, but not likely to happen as part of this trial, since it is in partnership with the Charlotte Center City Partners, and the airport is not in the Center City. Maybe later, after the trial is over, if they expand to additional areas.
To make sure they do expand, people should use the hotspots that are in place, as much as possible. -- Best of luck

| Bah Bah.
Just drive around downtown sometime. There are PLENTY of wide open access points.
I was doing PC work for a salon and they only had dial-up. Took my laptop with me, picked up a signal from the place next door. Downloaded the patches, burned them to CD-RW, and used them in the sick PC.
Why pay for what you get for free? | |

| pigs will fly before Raleigh-Durham gets free WiFi Raleigh-Durham is all about paying big for everything, including WiFI. Borders has this silly Tmobile deal, where you buy a day pass of 10 dollars OR you can pay 30/mo for a subscription which is stupid if you have an existing internet account. A few places offer free WiFi, including venues that make you go up to the cashregister and get a code. It's amazing to see such a supposed technologically advanced area as the famous RTP without comprehensive free WiFi, or at least WiFi for existing customers of RR or DSL companies. If the merchants here could get 100/month for wifi, we'd have a million hot spots...that's the Raleigh Durham mentality: can't sell it? Don't do it. Rock on San Francisco!! | |
