Wow, Mikey knows what he won't get for xmas

This one displaces the Kodak DX6490 as my current top pick. 12x @ 2.8 all the way, plus image stabilization! I am dying here.

$600? It appears that the MSRP is $999, according to the Panasonic website in the original news post.

First thing this morning it read $599.00.... then it changed to $999 for most of the day.... then late this afternoon it changed back to $599. So I don't know what the deal is, but it is currently back at $599. If you had looked during the middle of the day, you would have seen $999 on the Panasonic website.
