Boeing To Buy 180,000 Internet Protocol Phones

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- New technology developed in the Bay Area got a very big shot in the arm that will change the use of the telephone.

"I think this will be one of the hot new technologies," said Hank Lambert, of Cisco Systems.

It's called Internet Telephony. And after years of development, it's hitting the mainstream thanks in part to a deal between an aerospace giant and a high-tech leader, NBC11's Scott Budman reported.
