@optonline.net | crazy I don't think I've ever just bought an item over 50 dollars after viewing any type of ad without extensively researching it first. Pretty amazing that high ups drop large amounts of money so easily just because the ad told them to.

| ! I would to, if it's something that interests me, I would obviously do some more research on it before I put anything in.
I found things I would of have chosen from preferred supply points, but instead I bought from somewhere else because it was a few dollars cheaper and had better shipping or was more informative on specific hardware details. A quick google and it shows that they are a trusted source or if they are BS.
Online advertising works, the problem is that it becomes a frustration when a pop-up start opening browser windows, or you get an ad hovering over the content that I am more interested reading. This method of getting in your face is what pisses off the majority of people.

I would tend to agree - I wonder if the questions were skewed to get the result they wanted especially with who did the study which seems to be a medial/marketing company. Maybe this was done and released with the idea of trying to increase online advertising and they then make more money - would not be the first time this type of thing was done.
I don't care how much money my friends and I have - we don't buy purely based off of any advertisements - online or offline (especially online ads). I, and my friends, are a marketers worst nightmare...

| Marketing Media Propaganda There is a principal that if one hears and/or sees something long enough they are more apt to believe it if it be the truth or not. Hence why so much time & money is poured into marketing and the art of said profession. But seriously folks...don't believe everything you hear. Half truths are whole lies and marketing is all about creating a need and a lust for whatever they are marketing to part you from cash. A lot of them are a bit deceptive nowadays. That's why I have most marketers listed up there with Politicians and Lawyers. -- Browse A lot - Sign In Little - Post Even Less | |

| More proof of the need for opt-in** I don't think that having money has ever been proven to be an indicator of intelligence. If anything, this study would be proof of just the opposite.
(**because, surely, they only want to market to the "elite" and not some run-of-the-mill riff-raff =)
