Not long ago, a group of Chicago ministers who tackle "digital divide" issues slammed SBC for plans to offer their next-gen broadband to mostly wealthy & white neighborhoods. As the Boston Globe notes, Verizon is facing similar criticism for the "cherry picking" they're doing when it comes to which neighborhoods will see their Fios fiber broadband service.
