Tracking Spyware Trickery Which apps use which techniques Spyware researcher Ben Edelman is back again, this time with a new guide to which spyware applications are using which exploits and tricks to nest in your computer. A different new article can be found over at Spyware Guide, who recently dug into the odd behavior at Spazbox.net (visit at your own risk), a site which offers users "drive-by" installs of spyware and adware.

2 edits | YES! I always wanted to be able to print a guide: "If you install this, this will happen" Now when they come crying that their system is messed up at least I can say "Told you so" and "Can't you read!"
EDIT: Ben Edelman is now being raised from hero to deity in my book.
spazbox what a bunch of scumbags. Here's their Meta tag:

 | | Beware the MS AS Beta If you read the EULA very carefullyon the MS Anti-Spyware Beta - you will note that certain companies are allowed through, and I didn't like the memory performance on it either.
If you want decent spyware cleaner - try Search&Destroy - very happy with product, and it's free. If you want to prevent spyware, then I suggest you block untrusted cookies, raise IE Internet zone security to high, and use the dropmyrights.exe script from Microsoft to run IE or FireFox or your browser/app of choice at User permission level.
Norton's does work well, but it costs money. | |
