Yahoo Interest in Skype? ... from the rumor mill Sunday Jun 12 2005 11:01 EDT It was just last month that Yahoo unveiled Skype-like VoIP capabilities in a new version of its Yahoo Messenger. Various blogs on the Web, including Om Malik - Rodrigo, indicate that Yahoo and Skype are in close contact, and possibly exploring the idea of a commercial partnership. A Yahoo partnership with Skype would likely complicate their relationships with the baby bells, watching to see how this all pans out should be interesting. |

Lets just say SBC buys names to get you to buy their dsl. I think its foolish to believe any thing SBC says. just call in on their help line and see if they can help you. SBC Sorry Business Company

Look at alterntiviesWhat about Teamspeak or Ventrilo? Both cost money unless you have a decent pipe and can host your teamspeak server. If this does come to light arrgh. Rob -- »rob.luniac.com/w0kie

I don't agree..With the statement that Yahoo is out of the Voip game. The reason they are looking to integrate the instant messenger and voip is for presence tracking. Just as you can be alerted when someone is afk or typing, you will know when someone is talking on a call and/or away. Now imagine if businesses had this technology available to them. The major ip pbx manufacturers already have sip servers for a hefty price. Integration with freeware is even better and just a year away...
