Won't hand it over to UN, ICANN

As we've reported, many countries would like to see control of the Internet moved from ICANN to the ITU, a division of the UN. Yesterday U.S. leaders made clear that the United States will not cede control of the Internet to any other organization. Nor will they, contrary to earlier statements, give ICANN total control of the Internet's root DNS servers. See the government statement here.
