| Re: nice PR move I find it damn funny......
Call me paranoid but big-business is starting to trample the everyday taxpayer and its a little pathetic.
GWB and his cronies haven't helped a bit either. Even though he lost Wisconsin I live in the part of the state that supported him. If it hadn't been for Milwaukee and their strong and vibrant minority and liberal population?? OK, I digress. This isn't a political forum. I just hate the idiot and if you love him and think he's great..... Everybody is entitled to their opinion. He won after all so he must be great and I'm wrong.
Anyway......how many other municipalities are having the same problems as LaFayette right now and how long can Cox and Bellsouth tie this up in court? Years?????

| monopolistic Tell me these actions on behalf of bell south are not monopolistic..
It Fits the definition to a T. They are using their weight/power to keep others out of the market. So they don't have to compete.
HELLO FCC! Want to say something about this? You say that there is competition however this shit is happening all over the country preventing competition.
The FCC should have BARED these type of lawsuits. But this goes on to continually prove that the FCC is not looking out for our best interests..
Was Mr. Martin a Charity case just like Mr. Brown ( Ex- FEMA director). IS he really suited for this job. What are his credentials? -- This is the Curse of Being a college graduate.

| Great That was awesome. I hope it hits the local radio.
The FCC is to busy under the desk of the Bells to notice. If I could draw good I could make some nasty cartoons to post. HINT Just another group selling out the consumer. | Lafayette Carols part of larger battle The Christmas Carols the citizen's group Lafyette Coming Together released are part of the launch of a push to repeal Louisiana's "Local Government Fair Competition Act." That act, originally intended as a compromise solution has been abused by the incumbents, but especially BellSouth, to keep Lafayette in regulatory hearings and in the courts. BellSouth has simply acted in Bad Faith...
Folks with ties to Louisiana are urged to write their state legislators by following a link at the end of the clips. This law is also preventing New Orleans, who really does not need any further barriers, from permanently deploying a free WiFi network that would at least partially compensate for BellSouth's failure to get the phone system up and running.
We urge people from around the country to beware...the incumbent teleco and cableco corporations are trying to work the same voodoo on the nation that they are trying down here: passing federal laws that restrict the traditional rights of local governments to do what the community feels is best for their future. Please feel free to email the videos around--the more people who are aware of the behavior of the teleco's the better (for us and, frankly, for you).Don't allow the Congress to pass laws to do to the nation what our legislature did to us. Support Lautenberg-McCain, a bill in Congress which would secure local rights. Oppose the recently introduced DeMint bill, another teleco tool; defeating it is crucial to the nation's future.
--thanks for all the good wishes on this page. Folks down here are feeling a little beleaguered and well-wishers are always welcome.
