| Well Duh... Nobody but the few early adoptors and the must haves are going to pay current prices. If they want this to really be a "big thing" then they are going to have to lower the price. Specially with Linksys giving it out free wifi pretty much nation wide.:p | |

If prices fall Ill do it! I love the fact that youre not tethered to a landline, and you can be just about anywhere to get internet access! I guess I can work at the beach now!

| Re: If it's unlimited I'm in! I have EDVO on my PDA cellphone and I love it. I am able to tether (shhhh, don't tell anyone) while on the road for work which is a life saver. If the price goes lower, even better!
Two things:
1. Although it can be used for games, latency is indeed an issue. WoW pings stay about about 500ms. While this is playable in a pinch, I wouldn't want use it regularly. On the other hand, the connection itself (in DC, San Diego, and Boston) has been rock stable.
2. If there is a cap, I wish Verizon would simply state the cap and be done with it.

| Re: I would never pay 80 a month for Don't get this, man, the screen name says it all.
But even more so, "if it ain't free, it's not for me?" Man do you have a hard wake up call ahead. Everything in life has a price - who are you expecting to pay for it for you? The tax payer (ie: every other hard working person) or.. wait.. there is no one else.
Sorry man - but that's a really bad attitude. You don't even like to pay the $20 for DSL? lol - wake up dude.

Don't think you are completely anonymous. I know if this were my website, I would trace your IP back, and find out who you are, and make sure somehow your "disability" is investigated.

| Re: I would never pay 80 a month for I wouldn't go that far as to "investigate him" but that doesn't remove the fact that he is an ass.
Am I unhappy to pay $20 for DSL? Hell no I am not. I was happy to pay the $80 a month with a $300 hookup back in 1998 when DSL first came to Sacramento, CA. It was a 384/128 service and I was thrilled to have it. ANYTING was better than dial up. Dial up was an average of $20 a month. No one complained about that. Now that DSL is $20 and less per month, anyone to complain about that? WOW! Takes some pretty big gazungas.
Tell us, who is ripping you off at $20 a month for HSI? Who is ripping you off for $14.99? or even $12.99 for DSL? You are NOT being ripped off. No one is ripping anyone off for any price. You may not like the price you pay but you know? So what. You need to look at the legal definition of "being ripped off" - did they put a gun to your head? Were your forced 'under duress' to give them money for the product? Was your life or safety placed at risk in the exchange? I think not. Ask any attorny or judge and you will get the same answer.
Emotionally you may feel "ripped off" becauase you are not happy paying what you are for HSI. However, you have to be happy to pay something for it and it has to be reasonable. A "greedy corporation" isn't going to sell ANYTHING at a loss. You made it clear that you want to pay 'nothing' for it. "If it ain't free, it ain't for me" - Am I your father? no... am I being reasonable? Yes.. are you? Huh? Huh? No!
There's no arguing with Mr Don't Get This.. I am surprised that I even bothered.

| Unlimited should mean unlimited If wireless providers are really going to make a push into into the mass market, they're going to have to actually hold up thier end of the deal. We already have ISPs that try to control how we use the internet, and they don't make us too happy. Faster speeds are great, but high speeds are pointless if we can't use it the way we want. -- 144 145 145 172 040 156 165 164 163 | |

| T-Mobile's unlimited data service has been $20/mo... ... ever since its release. It started as GRPS, recently been upped to EDGE and still the same price. I use it everyday in the cab when I come to work. It's fast enough for me, perhaps a little more bandwidth couldn't hurt but I don't want to pay more than $20-25 per month, even if it's 1Gb/s - I don't need more than 100-200kb/s on my mobile phone. | |

| Keep going.. Nah, honestly.. if you can't freeload someone's wifi until they get the message that the prices need to go lower, then your all just a bunch of sellouts! ;->
I want it in the range where it's feasable to use voip over wireless data! Just incase you run out of minutes, switch over to your voip phone! Yeah... better yet, include unlimited voip and multimedia messaging in the plan!

| Rogers Good to hear.
I just figured out how to turn my BB 7290 into a wireless modem for my laptop and it works great! Slower than hell but it works.
Too bad Rogers has a 25 MB cap and nicks you $7 per MB over! -- "It's all coming down!!" - Mike Holmes

| Sprint is already $40/month Unlike Verizon, Sprint EVDO is truely unlimited with no restrictions on method of use. Sprint has much better EVDO coverage and is already $40/month for phone tethering and only $15/month for data used within the phone. Will be nice if laptop cards hit $40/month. | |
