Doubles Amount of Available Stock
(old news - 06:45PM Tuesday May 30 2006)
tags: hardware · gaming
With their former CEO under investigation for stock fraud, Infinium Labs, the company that burned through $62.7 million over 3 years without ever producing a product, has decided to change their name to Phantom Entertainment (without appreciating the irony, apparently). The company has also decided to double the amount of outstanding shares issued in an effort to raise additional cash. They've seemingly all but scrapped plans for a broadband-gaming dumb-console, and are focused now instead on getting their gaming "lapboard" peripheral to market.

I guess "thieving lying bastard Inc was taken"?

It's kind of like saying you'll make a car, and then years and millions of dollars later coming out with a custom sterring wheel.

What a freakin' joke.

Geeze, these companies waste more money that belongs to investors than a small country. Where are these generous investors and why aren't they investing in my multimedia business? It's frustrating to see frauds getting investment capital, when honest, hard-working business people are always turned down or ignored with regards to capital funding.

AMEN to that! The main problem is just plain ol' lying. A small business owner tells them they will make a good profit in 5 years so they ignore them. The others say next year they will make 1000% of their investment and they believe them, go figure. Then it bombs, they lose money as an investor and everyone else got a fat paycheck in the mean time.

Exactly. Investors want instant profit. It seems hardly anyone looks to the long-term anymore. Which sheds a hint on what people's thinking is these days.

Sarasota? I don't recall it being in Sarasota, out of the Florida Keys, but not Sarasota. But it appears they are now running it out of Seattle.

Infinium Labs, Inc.
1191 Second Ave
5th Floor
Seattle, WA USA 98101
(206) 370-4758

Since January of this year, about the time we first heard of the Phantom console, the address given for Infinium Labs has been listed as 5380 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, Florida 34228. This is confirmed by the register information listing the same address for the Infinium Labs website.

The link above has pictures of the place that claimed to be the office listed in the Florida Keys.

Re: So.....

That doesn't mean gensai isn't correct. Chances are, it ISN'T there. Chances are -- just like last time -- there's no existing office or anything of the sort, nor is the space in question rented out to anyone associated with Infinium Labs.

This happened before in Florida (I'm not sure if you know that or not).

Also, the domain WHOIS information says "Suite 500" not "5th Floor", which is interesting. Also, love the Email address of their administrative contact (...uhhh)

The link above has pictures of the place that claimed to be the office listed in the Florida Keys.
The Longboat Key address that they were using is in Sarasota County, FL. That was the address listed in the Florida Corporations first filing on 02/10/2003 (See Infinium_Labs_Corp.tiff in attached zip) On 10/01/2004 Infinium's registration was revoked for failing to file a required annual report with the state. The company was reinstated when it filed a report on 06/30/2005. In that report (see attached Infinium_Reinstatement.tiff) they made some changes in the listed officers, and also changed their address from 5380 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key, FL 34228 (Sarasota County) to a principal place of business to: 2033 Main St., Suite 309, Sarasota, FL 34237. In September of 2003 they stated that they had signed a 5 year lease on 10,000 sq.ft of offices at that location.

Also, the CEO Timothy M Roberts and Rebecca A Roberts purchased a home for $1,575,000 on 9/14/2001 at 511 HARBOR GATE WAY, LOT 2 BAY ISLES UNIT 1, LONGBOAT KEY, FL 34228. On 12/2/2003 the Roberts filed a Quit Claim Deed removing Rebecca A Roberts from the deed. According to the records that property is still listed to Timothy Roberts.

It is kind of like Gator changing their name to Claria, or

The saddest part is microsoft is going to destroy any market they hoped to get with this on demand broadband based gaming system. In my opinion, microsoft already has. Anyone trying to compete with on demand gaming against microsoft is just stupid.
And this ignores the fact that these criminals still haven't created anything that works.

Address may be a mail drop

All this brouhaha about the address may be moot.
I worked for a computer time-sharing company in DC in the 80s, and they wanted to do a mass mailing, so they got a copy of a local trade association's membership list (legit) and proceeded to print labels.

We soon found out we needed to do a "merge and purge" run on the list, as there were many companies with the same address except for the suite number. One of our salesmen stopped by one of the addresses, and found a low-rent building with one office that collected and sorted the mail. Meetings were held either in a suite there, or in meeting spaces in a local hotel.

why

let the companies "waste" money?

I know, I know, this is how 'murikkka works, but for christs sake, someone do some good. This is the result of greed taking over once again. It used to be that American jobs stayed in America because America's were supportin'. Now its, find a trend, throw money at it without investigating if its a solid lead, and wait to reap the benefits of said "throwing". And by throwing money at the problem, the only thing investors are doing is helping companies out source their work.

They get their offices cleaned by migrant workers paid minimum wage, but outsource the meat of the project to the Bob's and Mary Ann's of India. Least the office cleaning jobs were created on US soil! hey, i guess Bush is right! There ARE jobs being created! buncha baffoons run this country, the ones with silver lining in their pockets and spoons in their mouths.
