I could go on and on about poorly coded emulators that display strange sounds, artifacts, and colors. Yes, even your beloved ZNES and others have these problems (it varys from game to game)
Rest assured since Nintendo WROTE the hardware, provided the framework, and licensed the content, they will have no problems with any of their games when played through the Wii emulator.

I still have about 50-some original NES carts in a box. I bought them all for "full" price, back in the day. Legally.
Tell me I don't have a right to play them on an emulator now, and that it's illegal. I bought them *once*, they happily took my money then, amd I ain't buying them again just because the original console was poorly-made and had a relatively-short lifespan.

Paying 4.50 to 9 per game will turn off a lot of people but dropping the price to $1-$2 a game would really get people thinking its may be worth the buy. Here's hoping Nintendo see the feedback and think twice about it.

probably any nintendo wholly owned title will be less than the third party stuff which would also account for a flux in the pricing.

Such as pushing and pulling the game out, to get down to the copper, or getting a cleaning kit.
The sad thing is, I've never seen a single used NES or SNES game that had the dust cover on it.
How do people lose these things? I have over 100 NES games and SNES games that I've owned since childhood, and have all the original dust covers.

They really didn't matter anyway, the problem wasn't dust, it was cheap copper contacts that corroded in the carts and a poorly designed connector on the US NES frontloader deck. -- gau gau

I'm with Karl, I desperatly want to play Bionic Commando!
I also can't wait to play a game called Master Blaster. I would love to re-play Contra and the SNES Castlevania series.
IMHO, the Xbox 360 has great graphics but even their funnest games are only a 5 on a 1-10 scale. Nintendo has so many 10 quality games they can keep you busy for MONTHS! I also would love to play Battle Tanks or Starfox series.

but if they adopted the MMORPG style pay to play system it could kinda ruin it.
now if they set it up like XBLArcade then it would be decient, where you can use an internal currency to get the games and stuff you want, put retail packages of points(and that way, little kiddies aren't grabbing for mommy and daddy's creditcards)
and yes i'm perfectly aware it's a blatant ripoff of the marketplace points thing done by MS but it's actually a really solid business model.

| why no subscription based service??? I cannot believe that they would pass up using the subscription based model that mmorpgs use. I think a subscription service would have a much better selling point since people are already use. Either that or follow the Itunes lead and go $.99 a title. I just don't see myself re-buying old games I use to own at a min of $4.50 per title. I'd much rather just subscribe to the service for 14.95/mo or whatever and have unlimited access. They could even set it up that once you cancel your subscription that it locks you out of any games you had already downloaded to your Wii. | |

| ...You can't beat TV and just plugging the NES in I recently unearthed my NES just to play some of my old classic favorites, like NES Golf, the Super Mario Series, Duck Hunt, (Love that Grey Gun...) RBI Baseball (Great 80s classic Baseball game) and Link, but sadly I believe the battery in Link has died as it won't save argh!!!...and especially on my 32" Toshiba TV...its pretty sweet, it sure beats playing the emulator on my Computer screen.
You just can't beat the original gameplay on these consoles, sure, graphics suck, but who cares about the graphics, really? Between loading times, and waiting and 10 million options to go through, its very time consuming. Pop in Dr. Mario, or "Tengen" Tetris, and you're off and running with your friends.
They just don't make games like that anymore...
Also to the person who said blow on the cartridges, that's the LAST thing you want to do...clean the edge connectors with Windex...and your games will last nearly a lifetime. I guess for someone who grew up with these systems, its a little different than the Xbox 360 and the PS3 and whatnot. I may endup selling my Xbox and PS2, and just start collecting more of these games.
It'd be easier though with the Wii Console, because finding these games is more and more difficult to find and well, eBay seems to be yumming it up with unbelieveable prices people will pay for a console and 30 games (I saw an auction go up to $200)...
But yes, even for $4.50 to $9, I'd be interested, depending on the game of course.

| Re: ...You can't beat TV and just plugging the NES in The games aren't what failed for the NES.
The springs that loaded and held the carts in place in the console had short lifespans, and if the spring failed it wouldn't read the cart right, thus rendering the console basically uselss unless you wanted to open er' up and replace/repair the spring yourself.
Or unless you're me, and discovered that an old WHAM! tape cassette jammed in did a great job of holding the cart in when the spring failed.
