That's it.
(Also, the reason Yahoo search is the same thing as Google is because they don't do their own search--they just buy Google's.)
|
| | | | Right... because if you have voice disagreements with a large monopoly, you're an anti-American fanboy. Yeah, everybody hates a winner... just ask Michael Jordan. | |

Doesn't this contradict your implication that their hatred of microsoft is a knee jerk dislike of corporate america?
"no one can love the team that always wins"
I agree people will turn on google eventually, but that has more to do with the fact that people who always win tend to become arrogant overbearing holes. Until google becomes corrupted by its own success it will likely keep its fanboys.

| | | | Yea but how much money that is spent on employee thrills that could have been put in something that will bring real ROI.
Frankly I seen it before during the dot-com con era. VC money was burned up on perks instead of business growth.
Also I would go nuts at Google. I need to have my OWN life. A steady good paying job without perks is better than a lot of perks and long hours.

There are many steps that one can take to thwart Google's data mining but it seems complete resistance is futile.

| Talk about privacy concerns, the Google Toolbar and even Google Desktop (not to mention the "Search Assist" and "URL Assistant" garbageware) is shipping straight from the factory on all our new Dell Optiplex PC's here at work. I can see them shipping this crap on a home user's PC but on corporate systems?
I still need to call Dell though and see if we can opt out of this crapware.
|
| | |
| | JRVS join:2001-06-01 Houston, TX | I agree. Dell needs to stop doing that. Supports budgets are too tight as it is without them adding more software. First thing I do when I unpack an Optiplex is uninstall these 4 programs, and the ancient Java runtime they install. | |
