Wireless Atlanta
City seeks vendor to build citywide network
The city of Atlanta, Georgia has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a vendor to build and run a wireless network (MuniWireless) that will cover 132 square miles. The project, dubbed Wireless Atlanta, is an initiative launched by the City to partner with a service provider to deploy a citywide wireless broadband network. Wireless Atlanta will offer residents, visitors, and businesses the ability to access the Internet anytime and anywhere within the city. Mayor Shirley Franklin is hopeful that the Wireless Atlanta initiative will help achieve her Vision for the City - by improving the quality of life, promoting tourism and economic development as well as leapfrogging the current City service levels.

FastPass

Biltmore Communications already has a large chunk of Atlanta covered in wifi. Maybe it would make sense to have them extend it city-wide.
