User Pnh102 writes in: "The Guardian reports that the government of Iran is limiting "high speed" Internet connections to 128Kbps. The government deemed this action necessary in order to prevent the "undermining [of] Islamic culture among the younger generation" as well as to hinder the activities of political opponents who use the Internet as a means of organizing their own activities. This move by the Iranian regime follows recent government actions to seize privately owned satellite dishes and shut down newspapers which were critical of the government."
