I concur; there's no competition, in my eyes: Hmm, $80 a month Verizon service that has horrible ToS, and limits you to 5 gig a month (ok $60 if you're a voice customer). Or, $50 (Sero) a month with Sprint for truly unlimited services, and wide-open ToS...plus they have an extremely large (and rapidly expanding) Revision A network with very promising results (people have broken 2 meg down, and have attained 800K up with latency around 90-150ms). I might also add that you don't need a voice plan for this either. Once Sprint has launched EVDO Revision A nationwide (projected to be sometime in the middle to end of next year), I hope they smash Verizon.... Then, once Revision B (even faster downloads and uploads, and it's optimized for VoIP and other low latency applications) starts being deployed by Sprint, well, it'll be all over for competition between Sprint and Verizon when it comes to mobile broadband....Oh wait, the competition is already over; I forgot.

Re: Sprint > VerizonYour assuming that they have service everywhere that verizon does. They don't, though they claim their putting up towers in our area.

You are obviously out of your head. Although I agree that Verizon has been a bit hard to deal with regarding their limited "unlimited" service, their coverage and quality of service are light years ahead of Sprint's. Having been a customer of both personally and also having hundreds of my users using carriers from the likes of Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and a few other lesser know carriers, Verizon's data service cannot be beat.

Well on behalf...of Flint Michigan.....God Stinkin Bless Ya.
However, some of us don't live in Flint. And even those that do are now wintering in Fla, where Verizon was first and in too many places is the only service.

Re: A Possible EVDO Rev. A CityUnless you had a pre-release Verizon RevA PDA, your results are bogus. It's impossible considering the limitations of Rev0 devices.

Faster revA download/upload also means quicker for user to reach that 5GB limit on VZ "unlimited" service.

...Good, I want someone to pressure Sprint that they squeal like pigs. I want them to realize the difference between Verizon and Sprint is because of there contracts. At least there is someone competiting head to head, even if it's Verizon. Hopefully that will push Sprint to deploy at a faster rate. Sprint should also finish up merging the two companies already and get it over with. This should be interesting to watch and maybe Sprint won't be stupid and simply go ahead and do the upgrade and then do the press release. That way it's a surprise towards it's competitors. Instead of allowing there competitors to get ready ahead of time. The major weakness in Sprint is tech support, hopefully by the time the merger is done, we can expect some nextel class tech support. Maybe a updated online manager as well since the one of nextel was more in depth. Just look at for yourself.

Re: ...Sprint has "deployed" in more markets then people know. Living in Michigan, the only thing Verizon has a leg up on is home wireline service. I've been camping with people who have VZ I hear them compain about servie or lack there of the whole trip (Nextel not much better). I'm sure VZ works well in some areas where they already have a big presence. Just like ALTEL works well in some areas too. I've had Sprint for years so yes, I'm biased. But knowing people who work in the wireless stores (vz), I'm happy with sprint from when I hear about the "stories" from the "inside". Verizon is like Honda. People don't hear the "bad" stuff about their products and most users are numb, they just move along like sheep. Like the PC mag article says "Where Sprint goes, of course, Verizon Wireless isn't far behind".. Guess someone has to have the guts to blaze a trail for others to follow.. Go Sprint!!!

Official Cities aren't the Only CitiesThough Verizon launched their Rev-A network, the cities they've officially listed aren't the only places they have Rev-A turned on at. There are quite a few major markets they aren't announcing yet, for whatever reason. See for yourself by checking out a cool new google mashup at » EVDOmaps.com - a service of » www.EVDOinfo.com
