Yet another Martin plan that irritates the cable industry

The deadline for broadcasters to shift to all digital transmissions is February 17, 2009. Uncle Sam recently came up with a plan to offer coupons to consumers to help them buy a converter box. According to Reuters, the FCC is now also considering forcing cable providers "to carry both analog and new digital signals by early 2009." As with most recent FCC decisions, the cable industry is annoyed, saying it means less room for adding HD channels.
