| Depends on where you are and what time A friend of mine had cable when it first was put into his area, I think it was a nice 5 meg service all the time and he bragged insufferably. Now at peak times, he is lucky to get 500K (so he says)yet my DSL goes 1.5 Meg day and night. So the answer to the question "is Qwest faster or is Comcast faster" would be yes.....maybe.....depends.... -- I am not lost, I find myself every time. | |

I had comcast i was tired of weekend slow downs and the afterwork slow downs. late at nights where the best times. Both are shared. They just differ in where the sharing occurs. With DSL you start sharing at the Central Office/Exchange [CO] (where your connection is commingled with all those who use your CO to get out to the Internet). With Cable, you start to share somewhere between you and the head-end (the Cable equivalent of the CO).

| Well, the Slowskys must be on a long loop if thats the case. Well, the Slowskys couldn't be Qwest users, because they would be unhappy with how comparable the fastest tier is on Qwest. But realistically speaking, the average DSL subscriber (not the average one on this site) IS much slower than just about ANY cable providers internet when it comes to DSL as the comparison. I guess the Slowsky's are dreading the coming of FiOS, as they will no longer be able to "relax and power nap" while their downloads complete. I love them though. The "you come push it, you push it REAL good" comment had me laughing so hard. I love the Slowsky commercials. -- SIPPhone/Gizmo # 17476200648 / PIMPNET Chatline / Ran by Asterisk & Slackware 10.1. | |

I do not know who was first but I agree that they are basically the same type of commercial and dialog (just using snails or turtles). I am in the NYC area and I've seen the Slowskys ads here for at least 6 months and I've gotten a laugh out of them. Our local DSL provider is Verizon.

| all they needed to do was add "when you want to use it" to their spots.
They have upgraded here by now i hope. But i tried cable before i got my dsl....AOL dial-up could have claimed higher speeds at 6 pm!! Cable passed DSL sometime after midnight Was not impressed when there was a damn 'Get lightning fast internet' billboard a block away :/ I hear they are still slow at prime time here tho.
