Scientists at the Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC) at Georgia Tech are investigating the use of extremely high radio frequencies (RF) to achieve lightning fast transmissions, though initially only at short range (great for network HD and killing some cords).The folks screaming that their kid will mutate because of the technology (and there's always somebody who does) should note the system will use 10 milliwatts or less, and the 60 GHz frequency is stopped by human skin.
