According to a new report (pdf) from the DSL forum, IPTV growth worldwide has jumped some 179% in the 12 months preceding June 30, 2007. While the United States still lags far behind Europe in IPTV growth, North American IPTV adoption is accelerating -- thanks in part to AT&T's deployment of U-Verse.

According to the group, there's still only 1,069,000 IPTV subscribers in all of North America, while Europe closes in on the 5 million IPTV subscriber mark. The group also notes that DSL continues to be the dominant form of broadband connectivity worldwide, accounting for 200 million of the world’s 313 million broadband connections.
