How do you deal with eliminating false positives? How do you flag data transfers by their content without needing ridiculous amounts of processing power? How do you deal with encryption?
It is a huge task which none of today's technology can accomplish. Especially with the encryption side of things, any decent encryption will always be miles ahead of those trying to crack it. | |

As the cat and mouse game gets more sophisticated, and the "pirates" find better ways of bypassing or circumventing the filters, they are going to need more processing power. Eventually, the encryption will require the same amount of CPU power the NSA uses; in some ways, the encryption itself has already reached NSA grade.

i'd suggest you should use 1024/RSA atleast or 2048/RSA, but using RSA for encrypting lots of data is just stupid. use something like blowfish or AES256. | |

This encryption cracking would have to be done on the fly for it to be of any use. By the time you crack it the data transfer may have already completed.
Of course, you could store the packets for later analysis, but that is not reasonable either.
In other words to filter/flag all pirated content going over an ISP's network would take amounts of processing power far beyond anything that is practical.
Yes, your video card might break some encryptions in a few seconds with it's processing power. But now throw at it all the data flowing over an ISP's pipes and watch even 1000 video cards crumble under the workload.

Crying and going on about losing money for this, losing money for that meanwhile there raking in record profits every year. The very people these bozo's go after(us the public) are the very same people who still contribute to lining these greedy corporations pockets with cash in some form or another.I'm not for piracy but I'm sure most people that actually do pirate things be it a little or a lot are still contributing in other ways to helping these corporations make billions. Maybe they should watch the national news sometime and see exactly what it's like to be poor with the hundreds of thousands of children and human beings in general are dieing and these corporations couldn't give a damn.
