LG

Sad to see LG leaving the smartphone business. They were never able to match the top of the line Samsung phones but had solid mid-tier phones.

LG may shut down phone business

I am not surprised but it’s unfortunate because one less player, even a minor player like LG, will give Samsung and Apple the ability to raise prices due to less choice for consumers.

LG can make a decent device (LG G2x notwithstanding, the only device I have ever had where the SoC straight up failed) but they lost consumer trust with years of bootlooping devices and crappy UI decisions. I bought an LG G8 last May for $245 brand new and it’s an okay device but nothing special. I certainly wouldn’t want to use it for my daily driver, I just replaced my aging HTC 10 with it as my backup Android device.

FCC to begin collecting consumers' broadband experiences.

This is the point where they run a filter on the DSLReport's forums.
