ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp., the Lopez-led media giant, continues to expand its operations in Asia-Pacific, with the recent introduction of The Filipino Channel (TFC) in Singapore. TFC, ABS-CBNs flagship international channel, is now being offered through communications giant StarHub CableTVs Digital Cable service in Singapore. TFC is the only ethnic Asian channel to be launched in the Digital Cable service, along with other international channels such as Animax, Sony Entertainment Television and ETTV Asia.
ABS-CBN said Singapore is a good market for TFC since there are around 130,000 Filipinos living and working in the city-state. The launch in Singapore would allow TFC to expand its reach in Asia-Pacific. TFC can be seen by millions of Filipinos in North America, Australia, Europe, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Japan, Cambodia, American Samoa, the Gulf States and Saudi Arabia. There are also plans to offer TFC in Hong Kong, where there is also a significant overseas Filipino worker base. TFC is the first and only 24-hour international channel offering all-Filipino programming. Besides TFC, ABS-CBN Global also offers ANC News Channel, Cinema One Global and Pinoycentral TV, and live feeds from radio stations DZMM and DWRR in various countries. Full article
