T-Mobile on what's at stake with 5G: It will determine whether the next ...

Seems a rather bit hyperbolic. One would think 5G was the cure for cancer, and grants world peace the way people talk about the technology.

I am cheering Amazon on just for this reason...

Anything that can relegate a device to be used for whatever the purchaser of said device deems fit is something that I will support completely. It is despicable for a company to play gatekeeper and claim ownership of your device after the purchase. I don't think going through a browser is a completely horrible method. You can make a very good modern interface on a browser and programs like parsec which have a web browser version, have proven that it's totally possible to stream a complete desktop PC in real time to a browser.

Verizon 5G vs. TMO 5G

The linked article's picture shows a Verizon speed test with the following results:

1,364 Mbps down
15.4 Mbps up

I didn't think it was possible but by comparison, my Spectrum gig service upload looks good!
