Users in our forums began reporting this morning that they were experiencing outages with their AT&T service. The Consumerist points out that there are conflicting reports as to who has been affected. It appears that both 3G and EDGE users have experienced problems with Internet connectivity. One update reports that eighteen states, primarily in the Midwest, have been impacted. The latest report says that AT&T does not know what has caused the outage but is working to remedy the problem.

The reason why AT&T wireless had an outage it's very simple there was more traffic than AT&T wirelesses network infastructure could handle their ip backbone system was overloaded they still run on 10 gig per second something should tell them to wake up and smell the $$$$$$$$ fresh air in the death star and upgrade their ip backbone system to 40 gigs a second with cisco high bandwidth routers otherwise the same problem will happen contiously over time again and again it should of told them something by now!!!

I'm sure we'll never know,

But I'd really like to know how the hell they've configured their network so that a single failure can bring down eighteen states.

This reminds me of the "national outage" that Comcast had due their brilliant idea of centralizing their DNS servers.

watch this funny stuff!!!

check it out if you have a AT&T wireless phone-pda phone their network is heading for another crash. I did a speed test 302 kbps a second, and it's obvious bandwidth hogs. I give them one more hour another network outage is gonna happen, I promise ya that!!!

Anyone notice the time being off?

I noticed that my phone last night around 6pm MST, was displaying time an hour ahead so it was saying 7-something PM instead. Probably related to the outage I'd guess.
