AT&T Says TOS Changes Were Mistake
Apologizes for fine print that apparently targeted Slingboxing to cell...
Last week we noted that consumer advocates were annoyed with two things: AT&T changing their TOS to further restrict streaming, and the release of a new version of Skype for the iPhone that limits the application to only working via Wi-Fi. AT&T has since reached out to us to claim that the TOS changes were a mistake. "The language added on March 30 to AT&T’s wireless data service Terms and Conditions was done in error," spokesman Seth Bloom tells me. "It was brought to our attention and we have since removed it," he says, adding that "we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused." Of course like most 3G service fine print AT&T's is still wildly restrictive, just not that wildly restrictive.

"Done in error"?

Bullshit. I've worked for some decent sized companies and NOTHING legal gets done in error. EVERYTHING is done deliberately, with specific intentions, and reviewed multiple time by a legion of lawyers. It may have been a mistake in the sense that they tried to get away with something, were called on it, and are now backtracking in damage control mode, but to say it was done in error is just flat out lying.
