Adelphia has asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York for permission to shutter 14 of its 17 CLECS acquired from Adelphia Business Solutions Inc. over the past several years. Adelphia hopes to sell nearly all of the related assets, creating additional cash during the ongoing reorganization plan. Adelphia would continue to operate CLECs in Buffalo, N.Y., Richmond, and Charlottesville, Va, according to TVInsite, who also reports on an increased shift toward Adelphia employee unionization.
