Adelphia Picks Sandvine to Block Attacks
by sunsfires Friday 09-Dec-2005
Adelphia Communications may not be much longer for this world. But North America's fifth biggest MSO, which Time Warner Cable and Comcast Corp. plan to split between them, still wants to block those nasty computer worms and spam from reaching its high-speed data users.

lol

in related news all p2p users, legit or not, notice sudden drops in speed or inability to access p2p. A spokesperson from Adelphia will say of course the two are not related. etc etc.

Regarding p2p and Adelphia:

I copied the following from the Adelphia service agreement, specifically the section about network support:

"You agree that You shall not operate a server of any type that
provides services to other users, or for your own use over the Adelphia
Broadband Service."

I suspect that all customer p2p activity would constitute a violation of this portion of the agreement. Maybe Adelphia won't stop p2p in general, but they could do so to any one customer by cutting off their service and the customer would have no recourse.

Re: lol

I think you're takin it out of context but I can go with that too. Technically running any communication software violates almost every ISP ToS, that includes newer versions of AIM, and I believe MSN, etc.
