Monday Jul 12 2004 09:19 EDT 07.12.04 PARIS -- Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) announced today that it has enhanced its support of the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), a global industry association comprised of more than 350 companies committed to driving open standards for interoperable services, from full member to that of sponsor member, thus becoming a member of OMA’s Board of Directors. On this occasion, Alcatel also announced that Gilbert Buty, standardization manager at Alcatel, has been elected as the chairman of OMA’s Inter-Operability (IOP) Working Group.
