Telco giant Alcatel is expected to raise its procurement orders from Taiwan this year to fill its soaring demand for optical and ADSL components, handsets, and broadband components, top company officials said yesterday.
Upbeat about its revenue prospects in the Asia-Pacific, the end-to-end communications solutions provider also expects to double its business in the region in the next three years, visiting Alcatel Chief Operating Officer and President Philippe Germond said.
"Asia-Pacific accounts for 18 percent of our global revenues," Germond told a news conference. "We are moving fast in this region. We believe a major part of Alcatel's growth in the next three years will be coming from the Asia-Pacific."
