Problem: The following message has been posted to inform you of an outage in your area; in addition, the IVR has been updated to reflect the current status. WHO? All FastAccess and Dial customers are affected by the issue. WHAT? Our customers attempting to change their E-mail password will be unable to do so at this time. WHEN? The problem began at 8:51 a.m. EST on Thursday, November 29, 2001. WHERE? It will impact the nine-state Bellsouth region that BellSouth Internet Services serves. WHY? We are currently investigating the cause. The estimated time of resolution is unknown. We will further update you once the service has been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for choosing BellSouth Internet Services.
Resolution: We have successfully restored service in your area and customers are able to access the system normally. The service was restored at 3:02 p.m. EST. The duration of the outage was 6 hours and 11 minutes.

UpdateI talked to another tech support rep who informed me that the outage page is slightly misleading....apparently "some" people are able to send/receive email........the majority are not! There is currently no time estimate for a resolution. | |
