Amazon's Internet Video Device to Launch in April
Amazon's long-rumored Internet video device appears to be ready for its official unveiling next month. Insiders tell Techcrunch the device will be a USB stick (can we stop using the word dongle, please?), much like the Google Chromecast or Roku's latest device. It will, obviously, be tied strongly to Amazon's Prime video streaming services, though it appears Amazon is also interested in jumping into the gaming arena with a streaming service not unlike OnLive (the company's Bluetooth game controller leaked last week). According to the Wall Street Journal, you'll get a good look at the new device when it ships sometime next month.

Chromecast/Android Support

How about basic Chromecast or Android support before we worry about a dedicated device just for Amazon services? I Don't have enough ports on my TV to dedicate any one port to a single service/purpose. Even if it was dirt cheap like a Chromecast I would not purchase it because of lack of ports. My main TV has the PS3/Xbox360 for online streaming, but my secondary TV relies on a Chromecast.

Get one or more HDMi switches and the problem is solved. I use several HDMi switches at each Tv location. Even my main viewing location, that has eight HDMI inputs, with the video processor is not even enough. I still need to use several HDMI switches to accomodate all my devices.
When I get the Amazon streaming USB stick I will be connecting it to one of the ports on the HDMI switches.

Controller

For me to even consider it, it better come with a controller. I don't want to have to use a tablet or smart phone to watch tv.

What? No Netflix support?

That's a dealbreaker.

USB or HDMI?

USB makes no sense. It would be HDMI like Chromecast.
