Apple Fined $667k in Taiwan for Meddling in Carrier Pricing
According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has been fined 20 million New Taiwan dollars (or around $667,000 US dollars) for interfering in carrier handset pricing. According to Taiwanese regulators, Apple violated article 18 of Taiwan's Fair Trade Act by telling Taiwan's three main service providers (Chunghwa Telecom, Far Eastone Telecommunication Co. and Taiwan Mobile) how much to sell iPhones for, something that's not allowed under Taiwan law once a carrier has purchased distribution rights. Apple may have to pay up to $1.67 million if they don't comply with Taiwanese regulators.

Im sure crapple is really sorryy..

That fine will sure make them think twice about doing it again. They probably paid it out of petty cash. They easily sold enough iphones in taiwan to cover the fine many times over.
