FORT WORTH The city will be home to a new art school next spring.
The Art Institute of Fort Worth, a branch of The Art Institute of Dallas, will open April 5 at 7000 Calmont Ave. near Ridgmar mall. The school, which will occupy about 20,000 square feet, will offer bachelors degrees in photography; Web design and interactive media; advertising design; fashion and retail management; graphic design; and interior design. It will also offer associates degrees in graphic design and in Web design and interactive media.
Students at the year-round school can get their bachelors degree in three years for $92,000 for the entire program or $474 per credit hour, said Chad Williams, Fort Worth campus director. That figure, $23,000 a year if spread over four years, includes books and supplies.
Students can earn an associates degree in 20 months at a total cost of $55,778, Williams said.
By comparison, tuition at Texas Christian University will cost $28,250 this year, plus an estimated $1,000 for books and supplies. At the University of Texas at Arlington, tuition will total $8,186, plus about $1,000 for books.
